Simultaneous Estimation of the Stator and Rotor Resistances in an Induction Motor Drive using Novel Active and Reactive Power Based Model Reference Adaptive System
The paper is concerned with estimation of a stator and rotor windings resistances of an induction motor. For this purpose, a novel estimator is proposed which is based on a model reference adaptive system (MRAS). The estimator utilizes two quantities such as active and reactive power of the motor therefore is named PQ-MRAS. The main advantage of proposed system is possibility to simultaneous calculation of stator and rotor resistances. In the paper a detailed description and mathematical model of the novel estimator is provided. Results of simulation tests for various cases performed by MATLAB/Simulink software are presented as well.
