EFEITO DAS ALTERAÇÕES DE CALENDÁRIO ACADÊMICO NAS REPROVAÇÕES EM DISCIPLINAS DO CURSO DE GRADUAÇÃO EM ENGENHARIA QUÍMICA DA UFRRJ
This paper presents a survey of the percentage of disapproval twelve compulsory courses of the undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering of the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro. The chosen disciplines are from the first period until the eighth, emphasizing those that are most relevant along of course. The choice of subjects was based on the perception from the experience of the authors in the classroom and in daily contact with the students. From this survey were identified some of possible causes that interfere on the student performance and were proposed solutions to reduce failure on the discipline. The results indicate that disruptions of academic calendars have considerable impact on the performance of students, mainly on the first-years. Key-words: Retention, Evasion, Academic Score.
