Testing the intensity of erosive wear of selected steels depending on the angle of incidence of the abrasive stream
The article presents the results of experimental studies of erosive wear of selected steel grades depending on the angle of incidence of the abrasive stream. The following high wear resistance steels were selected for testing: Hardox 500, NC6 (1.2063) and 40HM (1.7225). NC6 (1.2063) and 40HM (1.7225) steels were subjected to heat treatment (hardening). The tests were carried out on a self-constructed stand, which allowed the impact of the abrasive stream on the sample at the indicated angle and under the specified pressure. A wide range of angles were tested: 10, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 degrees. The analysis of the obtained results allowed to indicate the material with the highest resistance to abrasive wear and to recommend it as the best material for working elements of mills and other devices exposed to intense erosive wear.
