Development of circular ring antennas for mobile broadband systems
This paper presents a development of circular ring antennas for mobile broadband systems. The antennas is fed by a 50ohm with two-port micro-strip line elements. The dimension size of antennas is 38×80mm2 with low-cost FR4 substrate. The simulation and experimental result achieve the average gain about 3dBi covering the UWB frequency range 3.1GHz-10.6GHz. The antennas has correlation coefficient average less than 0.1. For far field radiation patterns is omnidirectional in XZ-plane and bi-directional in YZ-plane. The experimental results are in the same trend with the simulation ones. This antennas is suitable for Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) fulfilling in UWB applications.
