Effect of Interference Source with Directional Antenna on Radio Link in Non-Line-of-Sight Conditions
Fifth generation (5G) systems will be based on the frequency bands used by current cellular systems and WiFi networks, but also at higher frequency ranges. However, a signal attenuation increases as the frequency increases. Hence, directional antennas and beamforming will be used in the 5G systems. Therefore, the influence analysis of parameters of these anten-nas/beams on the electromagnetic compatibility of operation of different systems is important. This paper focuses on the impact assessment of the position and orientation of directional antenna of interference source on the signal-to-interference ratio in a radio link. The analysis is based on simulation studies using a multi-elliptical propagation model and path loss mode for directional antennas and 2.4 GHz.
