Improved Erlang capacity of combined carrier channel assignment for hybrid FDMA/CDMA systems supporting voice and data services
The authors focus on the evaluation of the Erlang capacity for hybrid FDMA/CDMA systems supporting voice and data services with two channel allocation schemes; the independent carrier channel assignment (ICCA) scheme and the combined carrier channel assignment (CCCA) scheme. As a result, the CCCA scheme shows considerable Erlang capacity improvement with an increase of carriers of hybrid FDMA/CDMA. For a fixed number of carriers, the Erlang capacity of CCCA is almost the same as that of ICCA with small channel elements (CEs). However, CCCA outperforms ICCA with an increase of CEs.
