The information theoretic characterization of the capacity of channels with noisy feedback
In this paper, we solve a long-standing problem in communication systems with access to noisy feedback. We introduce a new notion, the Residual Directed Information, to capture the effective information flow (i.e. from the message to the channel outputs) in the forward channel. We then provide a channel coding theorem characterizing the capacity of the channel with noisy feedback.
