The proposed unit tracks the PV cells' Maximum Power Point (MPP), distributes the power among dual loads, and handles any surplus or deficit power by a battery. A digital controller has been realized using VHDL, and downloaded on an FPGA to manage a novel single inductor Dual Input Multiple Output DC-DC converter. A prototype has been implemented, tested, and verified under varying light intensities.
