In this huge repository of musical data, current music information search and indexing systems do not allow users to return the songs that correspond to their needs expressed by a query due to the used indexing techniques. To improve the relevance of the music information search, we propose in this paper firstly an approach based on the use of domain ontology to index a collection of songs and the use of semantic links in order to allow the inference of all relevant songs. In addition, we propose a query refinement algorithm to find songs. This approach is tested and validated in the domain of Algerian songs in the context of the semantic web.
