Effects of using interactive board based wiimote and infrared technology on engineering learning
This research paper presents effects of using a low cost interactive board based Wiimote and infrared technology developed by the Faculty of Engineering, Mahasarakham University for engineering learning classes. The developed interactive board was tested by 185 engineering students from 8 majors. The experimental results showed that using the proposed board could significantly increase intension of students for the learning by 86.6%. There was slightly different between male students and female students regarding skills required for using the board (87.2% and 85.5% respectively). Using the board could better attract students from mechanical, electrical and mechanical engineering for the learning (90.5–92.0%) than students from civil, environmental, manufacturing, biological and general engineering (80.0–88.5%). The older students (21–25 years old) trended to play more attention on the teaching than younger students (17–20 years old) when using the board for the study classes by the attention level of 88.8% compared to 85.6%. However, all the students strongly agreed that using the board affected their satisfaction for the teaching classes with 90.4%.
