The simulations took into account different conditions of the electrodes (point-plane, point-point, circle-plane and circle-circle) and the condition of the barrier (a barrier with and without a hole and pollution in the middle of the barrier). The software COMSOL Multiphysics, 5.6 version was used to simulate the effects these conditions have on the distributions of the electric potential and field (E-field).
