The proposed split-ring monopole antenna (SRMA) has a compact novel design which provides 13.8% and 55.5% impedance bandwidth at operational frequency bands. Moreover, the antenna exhibits good radiation pattern with predicted gains of 4–6 dBi in the related bands. The analysis and design of the proposed microstrip antenna have been carried out by means of Ansoft HFSS and an antenna prototype was then constructed and tested.
