Selection of devices for the signal conditioning circuits of a CPM is a very involved process. A detailed description of conditioning circuits, namely charge-sensitive amplifier (CSA) and gaussian wave-shaper of the CPM, and parameters which were considered while selecting devices have been presented in this paper. The particulars of the data acquisition channel like digital peak detection and discrimination to interpret the energy of incident particles has also been detailed.
