The proposed microprocessor-based PPC can adaptively generate a motion profile for a position locking system according to the periodically sampled position error. The slope-varied characteristic of the PPC can speed up the positioning response for long distance servo control. A system model is built for computer simulation. A prototype is implemented to verify the theoretical analysis.
