Integration of prosumers as a measure for increasing of power system flexibility - a case study of Montenegro
Power system flexibility requirements are significantly changed in the era of increased share of renewable energy sources in electricity power generation portfolio. Achieving flexibility through traditional concept assuming utilization of existing generation units is outdated, or at least inadequate. Flexibility of modern power systems is closely related with innovative measures such as demand-side management and active role of traditional consumers which have, under novel circumstances, additional ability and that is electricity production. This type of consumers called prosumers may have a strong impact on the power system flexibility and this claim is confirmed through analysis given in the paper. The analysis was conducted on the Montenegrin power system.
