The paper outlines possible limitations of MIS application, which are related to the features of active power control and relay protection settings of generation units (GU). The paper addresses specific features of power system operation modes characterized by frequency and voltage drops. It is proved that load parameters exert significant influence on power system operation mode calculation and determine the feasibility of control actions defined by MIS algorithms and settings.
