Chemical treatment of the catalysis teas carried out at room temperature, while thermal treatment was made at 350 °C. The total surface area of the catalysts were measured by nitrogen adsorption at – 195 °C using the BET-equation. The specific metallic surface area was measured by hydrogen chemisorption at liquid temperature. The activity of the catalysis as tested for the isotopic exchange reaction of deuterium between hydrogen and water vapour.
