Frequency separation control of energy management system for building
This paper deals with a frequency separation control strategy for an autonomous hybrid energy system for residential and building application. The proposed hybrid system integrates photovoltaic system as a main source, and fuel cell (FC) system as an auxiliary power source. The building is also equipped with battery able to support large and fast power demand variations. The work contribution consists of performing an optimal energy management control strategy based on frequency-separation to keep power distribution between sources and loads, in order to preserve the FC reliability and to increase battery and FC lifetime. Simulations are carried out under Matlab SIMULINK and energy management strategy performances are evaluated through simulation results.
