FVD Method as AC Drives for Three Phase Induction Motor with Digester, Conveyor and Pump Loads
This paper will discuss about induction motors that are widely used in industry. Some problems of induction motor are like it cannot work optimally and in some application its work slightly above the ability of the power on the nameplate. Induction motor has advantages such as simple, rigid construction, relatively cheap prices and uncomplicated maintenance, but it is difficult to control speed. The control of induction motor is usually done using an ac drive. In this paper, we will analyze the induction motor, that its terminal supplied by variable voltage variable frequency sources that using frequency voltage drive method (fvd method). The loads of the induction motor are digester, conveyor and pump. The result shows that the rotation of motor decrease from 2605 rpm to 2410 rpm with the increasing of the mass added to the digester reservoir from 1264 kg to 1670 kg. The same conditions was happened when increasing mass placed on the conveyor from 158 kg to 651 kg and the flow in the pump increases from 4.6 m/hour to 7.7 m/hour.
