Researchers in the past were separately focusing on wired and wireless parts of the system. However, combining both will improve the efficiency of energy distribution in the entire communication system. An integrated model is proposed composed of combined control unit component which helps to deploy the Select & Sleep Mechanism (SSM) for energy efficient enhancement in 5th generation for IOT. The two different mechanisms are introduced for both the wired and wireless part of the system in SSM i.e. cellular segregation (CS) mechanism and pre-catching mechanism. MATLAB is used as an aid to evaluate the performance of these mechanisms. Results of the proposed model are compared with the Traditional Zooming Scheme (TZS) as a part of validation.
