However, the spread of EVs and increased reliance on them instead of fuel cars are mainly depends on strategic placement of EV Charging Stations (CSs). Optimal placement of EVCS problem has been investigated from different perspectives in the literature. This review study focuses on viewing several recently presented techniques in the previous works from two different perspectives. Firstly, the parameters of the objective functions that were employed to solve the EVCSs problem, as well as the problem formulation and optimization models were utilized to handle the problem. In terms of the objective function, various parameters such as total energy loss and total cost, EV user behavior and preference, charging demand, as well as the environmental and geographical conditions have been considered. With regard to the formulation of the problem and optimization techniques were introduced in the literature, the manner in which the problem is formulated and the techniques that were used to solve the problem will be discussed in detail.
