The proposed antenna is intended to operate at the center frequency of 9GHz for weather radar application. The cut-off frequency of waveguide is 6.5GHz and the dimension is 23mm x 23mm with 90mm length. To achieve dual-polarized excitation, 2 feeding line using SubMiniature version A (SMA) connectors are positioned orthogonally from the waveguide shortend. Some parametric studies related to the dimension of waveguide and positions of port excitation are investigated intensively to obtain the optimum architecture design of rectangular waveguide antenna.
