Satellite technical analysts fill a very important role in keeping satellites operating properly. In situations where these technical analysts are not available, such as with mobile satellite ground stations, Aritficial Intelligence software has been developed to provide for some of that expertise. Genesis is an intelligent active database designed to monitor real-time satellite health and status telemetry, translating the actual telemetry data into contextually relevant single point symbolic data, maintaining a history of the data, and checking the data for "interesting" events. Interesting events are when the telemetry data, symbolic data, and historical data do not fulfill Genesis' expectations. When Genesis notices an expectation failure, Genesis initiates the diagnosis and resolution process.
