The new enhancement technique is proposed where it has adopted the fuzzy rule-based approach to improve the contrast of the image while details are preserved and existing noises are not amplified. A new fuzzy contrast parameter is executed to distinguish the regions to rule bases that are specifically enhanced the distinguished regions. The performance of the proposed technique is compared with other state-of-the art enhancement techniques in terms of qualitative appearance as well as quantitative measurements. The proposed technique attains good results and outperforms the other techniques.
