Model-based testing, a well-known and proven way to reducing this difficulty, involves modeling the entire system or parts of it for review. This study gives a thorough analysis of the use of a model-based approach to ensure the quality of IoT applications, especially for performance-quality aspects, to assess what has been accomplished so far and what is needed in this direction. This research assessed published papers that show how models are used to evaluate the performance indices and quality features of IoT applications. The findings and limitations of the analyzed studies are discussed in this paper.
