Several techniques such as mathematics pedagogy and game design lenses [12] were studied in the development of this investigative process. Game design lenses are tools developed for examining game designs. The game design lenses were analyzed and mapped to several mathematics-specific teaching and learning theories. The authors present a mapping of the lenses to the learning theories and the resultant process investigates and incorporates suitable theories into a mathematics game design.
