The supervisor structure is based on a human operator model. Internally, it possesses qualitative information of the process, knowledge of the process under control, and the heuristic strategies obtained from an experienced operator to achieve the proposed plant operation objectives. For communication with the external world, it possesses a process interface and a user interface to supervise the global operation from an upper level.
