Review on Optimization Techniques used for Scheduling of Electric Vehicle Charging
The motivation to reduce the greenhouse gases and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has motivated the use of electric vehicles (EVs) globally. To support this, we need better charging infrastructure and information technology. The purpose is to assess various aspects of the power system influenced by the EVs and how to optimize their charging so that both the consumer and aggregator gets benefitted. Various optimization objectives such as power loss minimization, cost minimization of electricity, minimization of peak load have been discussed along with different optimization methods and algorithms. Different charging infrastructures and aspects of dynamic pricing are also reviewed in this paper. In this paper, EV charging concerning residential and non-residential places is taken into consideration and the need for planning and operational management is discussed.
