To assess this issue, this paper describes a real-time root cause analysis mechanism, which can pinpoint an accurate root cause and identify the influence on services. We investigated an interworking mechanism; based on a web service interface between an inventory and fault management systems and developed prototypes of them as part of an operation support system (OSS), which is capable of managing not only a core network and a metro ring network, but also a customer network.
