In this paper, the medium-orbit constellation and low-orbit constellation of satellite communication system are proposed, and the simulation analysis of the two constellations is carried out. Focusing on the time characteristics of constellation providing network service to a certain area, we selected the appropriate coverage objects and their Figure Of Merit (FOM) to calculated and analyzed their coverage performance and the changes at different orbital altitudes through the Satellite Tool Kit (STK). Based on the fading of realistic satellite-earth models like the atmospheric absorption model and rainfall attenuation model, a suitable transmitter/receiver model is established to analyze the effects of orbital altitude and inclination on link parameters.
