It focused on the existing materials used by English lecturers, target situation (the purpose of learning English, materials needed, and topics needed), and the activities needed by nursing students from students’ and stakeholders’ perception. This research was a mixed-method that involved forty-nine nursing students and nine stakeholders. The data of this research were collected by using a questionnaire, documentation, and interview. The results of the study revealed that the existing materials used by the English teachers tended to general English materials. In addition, the analysis results of target situation show that; 1) most students learn English for looking for jobs; 2) the most needed language proficiency components were vocabulary mastery, speaking and listening skill; 3) the materials needed in each language skill and knowledge were the materials that were related to nursing activities and job; 4) almost all of the topics were needed by nursing students such as giving information on treatment plans or diagnosis. Moreover, the learning activities needed by nursing students were in terms of the workgroup (small group, large group, and pairs) and discussion. 摘要

本研究旨在调查班库鲁德哈森大学护理专业学生对英语专用材料的需求。从学生和利益相关者的感知出发,重点关注英语讲师使用的现有材料、目标情境(学习英语的目的、需要的材料、需要的主题)、护生需要的活动。本研究采用混合方法,涉及49名护理专业学生和9名利益相关者。本研究的资料收集采用问卷调查法、文献法和访谈法。研究结果表明,英语教师使用的现有材料倾向于通用英语材料。此外,对目标情况的分析结果表明:1)大多数学生学习英语是为了找工作;2)最需要的语言能力成分是词汇掌握、听说能力;3)各语言技能和知识所需材料均为与护理活动和工作相关的材料;4)几乎所有的主题都是护生需要的,如提供治疗方案或诊断信息。此外,护生需要的学习活动以工作组(小组、大小组和结对)和讨论为主。综上所述,研究结果表明,护理专业学生需要真实的英语学习材料和适当的学习活动,使他们能够与同学互动和合作。
