Emphasis is on the research done in the past 10 years. Modeling studies of sandwich structures and their solution methods are discussed. Both analytical and experimental studies are included in the review. The research reviewed herein deals with sandwich structures with a soft foam core only. Studies of constrained layer dampers and piezoelectric materials that are also sandwich constructions are not included in this paper. Studies of the hygrothermal effects on these structures are also excluded.
