Design of a Dual-Band Printed Monopole Antenna for ISM Band Applications
The goal of this study is to develop a compact type of printed monopole dual-band antenna with increased gain and bandwidth for usage in the industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) band. The monopole antenna is made up of two C-shaped resonators connected by a U-shaped monopole, parasitic components, with ground circular rings, which are discrete in nature, and a co-planar waveguide (CPW) feedline. The total dimensions of the recommended ISM band antenna are $30\times 14\times 1.6\ \text{mm}^{3}$. This antenna featured bandwidths of 240 MHz at 2.45 GHz and 320 MHz at 5.8 GHz, with augmented gain values which were of 1.1 dB and 3.84 dB at the range of 2.45 GHz and 5.8 GHz, respectively. Consequently, the dual-band antenna recommended here is operating at a range of 2.45 GHz and 5.8 GHz industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) bands.
