FROM ANCESTRAL CONSCIOUSNESS TO NATIONAL SELF-CONSCIOUSNESS - SOCIAL TRANSFORMATIONS AMONG THE INDIGENOUS ETHNIC GROUPS OF THE FAR EAST IN THE XIX-XX CENTURIES

In the era of universal globalization, we can almost everywhere observe the processes of loss of our own ethnic identity. But this issue is particularly acute in multinational States with the predominant influence of the dominant ethnic group. At the same time, the value of traditional cultures is increasing and issues of their preservation are more urgent than ever. An important point here is to understand the factors that have the greatest impact on these processes. As a study, we analyzed the transformations in the field of family relations among the indigenous ethnic groups of the Russian Far East during the XIX-early XX centuries . To determine the degree of influence of the Eastern Slavs on the kmns, we also used compara-tive data on the family structure of settlers from the European part. Based on the data obtained, we tried to understand the process of transition from ancestral consciousness to national consciousness of the in-digenous ethnic groups of the Far East.
