Overall device has been designed, fabricated, and tested in UESTC. The TWT employs a periodic cusp magnet (PCM) focusing system allowing above 95% transmission and compact package. The unsaturated measured peak output power exceeds 4 kW with over 50% duty corresponding 26.7 dB gain and 31.9% efficiency at 28 GHz with single-stage collector depression. The 3-dB bandwidth is 7 GHz from 26 GHz to 33 GHz under the unsaturated driven.
