Analysis of the Main Types of Automated Information Systems in the Transport Sector, Functioning Mainly in Urban Agglomerations

This article proposes the definition of classification signs and, directly, the classification of the main types of automated information systems (AIS) in the transport sector, based on the structural and functional characteristics of the AIS, as well as on the degree of automation of the considered AIS. A comparative analysis of automated information systems of the transport sector, functioning in settlements with different population densities, as well as different types of gross regional product in the context of generalized groupings–agricultural, industrial and service is carried out. A comparison of the functional features and structural characteristics of AIS is carried out and the vector of the direction of development of the declared systems is determined. In addition, the main advantages and disadvantages of using AIS in the main categories of transport areas, such as automobile,industrial,railway transport and air transport in the context of tasks solved using AIS were highlighted
