A espiritualidade como rede de apoio aos pacientes oncológicos: uma revisão integrativa da literatura

Objective : The present study aims to identify in the literature the influence of spirituality in the care of cancer patients. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review, data collection was carried out in August 2021, using articles and scientific works available on the Virtual Health Library (BVS) electronic platform that makes up the databases: Online System of Literature Search and Analysis (PubMed), Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (Medline). Results: At the end of the research, seven articles were obtained, which described how the spiritual approach is increasingly valued in health work. All studies verified how interesting and important the subject is for the improvement of nursing practice. When analyzing the studies, it was seen that all described that spirituality contributes considerably to coping with cancer, both in the quality of treatment of cancer patients and in the performance of the nursing team during this palliative care process. Conclusion: Therefore, it was concluded that although the study of the subject is recent, spirituality in nursing care for câncer patients allows a great improvement in nursing practice and is relevant to the scientific community.
