A new method called "linear control" is suggested to command a series resonant power converter operating above the resonant frequency. Its principle is to control, simultaneously, the levels of energy storage elements L and C in a simple way: a linear combination of the two state variables of the resonant circuit. This process notably favours HF DC-DC conversion, giving also fast dynamics close to those of optimal trajectory control. In addition, this method is very easy to apply analogically as well as numerically and in both cases the cost is minimal. Numerical simulation results confirm the performance of the linear control for the transient regime. This strategy can be easily applied to other types of resonance (parallel or series-parallel) operating at frequencies below and above the resonant frequency.<>
