Factors Affecting the Adoption of Smart Buildings at Universities
This study explores the factors that affect the adoption smart building at universities. The main research objective of the study was to understand the factors affect the adoption of smart buildings amongst universities. The study adopted the Technological-Organizational-Environmental (TOE) Theoretical framework to understand factors affecting the smart building. The study used a quantitative content analysis process to review literature published from 2013 to 2018. The study results suggest costs, security, complexity, usability, technical skills, financial resources, communication resources, management support and energy consumption were the most important factors on smart buildings adoption in organizations. The study contribute to our knowledge of factors affecting adoption of smart buildings in organizations.
