The primary characteristic is using quadrangle search pattern as guidance to predicting direction when searching optimal result. Then, the flat hexagon, which has cross-center-biased property of moving vectors' direction in video sequences, is used. To prove the validity of the PIS algorithm, besides some theories and computation analysis, several experiments shows compressed images using PIS have similar quality to the full search (FS).
