Mobile based social networking platform for remote school ecosystem in resource-constrained areas – An Indian case study

Quality elementary education is a right of every citizen in India. Efficient networking of all stakeholders is essential to ensure effective delivery of educational services at the grassroots. There are several challenges in networking stakeholders especially in remote, rural and scattered service delivery points. In such a scenario, frugal Information Communication Technologies have better acceptability, utility and effectiveness among stakeholders. This paper discusses the experiences in piloting a simple mobile based social networking platform for the primary education stakeholders of a remote district in India that has been effective in promoting quality educational service delivery in multiple ways.
