Especially, we show the color restoration methods in cases of the achromatic or chromatic background color and the specular book surface. In our proposed method, the background color is extracted as the one with the highest frequency, and the color in the book image is restored by using its pro- files. The specular reflection can be restored by using the saturation profile of the background color or the mathematical model of specular component profile.
