Using Barometer on Smartphones to Improve GPS Navigation Altitude Accuracy
Today's GPS navigators have difficulty determining altitude such as whether a car is under or on an overpass. In this paper, we show how to use the barometers, which come with off-the-shelf smartphones, to improve vertical positioning accuracy.
