PID controllers are generally preferred where the system characteristics are linear. Moreover, the noise in the feedback sensing system makes the PID controller less suitable for system control. This paper aims to provide an advanced approach to improve the dynamic speed response of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) by replacing the PID controller with an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) controller.
