Convective clouds in the form of cloud cover that are quite large and meet the characteristics of the Mesoscale Convective Complex (MCC) have occurred in the Makassar Strait area. This mesoscale convective cloud cover has a fairly long duration, is semicircular in shape, and has a large cloud cover pattern. MCC also results in an increase in wind speed and wave height in the area traversed. This MCC processing uses Himawari-8 infrared satellite image data with an algorithm that has been built and based on the characteristics of MCC in Indonesia. Characteristics in the form of area, duration, and eccentricity value of the MCC are displayed in the processed results of this paper. The results of this study show the position of the MCC, the movement of the MCC, and also the consequences of the MCC cloud cluster. The duration of the MCC that occurred in the Makassar Strait was recorded for 8 hours and the location of the occurrence in the ocean. The final result of this analysis produces latitude and longitude coordinates, as well as cloud pixel area and eccentricity values.
