A load flow calculation of hybrid system integrated with VSC control strategy is proposed in this paper. Then based on the flow calculation, an optimal expansion planning with the key objective of economic efficiency is designed. The model of power flow for AC/DC power system is calculated by alternative algorithm and the objective function of the expansion planning is according to the cost minimization with the constraints of the costs for generation and the transmission lines.
