MPPT Comparison of Standalone Photovoltaic System using Multi-level Boost Converter
Due to pertinent advantages of multi-level boost DC/DC converters, photovoltaic (PV) applications widely use these converters instead of the conventional DC/DC converters. A comparative study of different maximum power point tracking (MPPT) methods is presented. Perturb and observe (P&O) algorithm, incremental conductance (IC) algorithm, fuzzy logic (FL) control, and P&O algorithm optimized by the neural network (NN) technique are compared and studied to show the intelligent method performance compared to classical ones. The MPPT methods are applied for three level boost (TLB) DC/DC converter in a PV system under varying climatic conditions. The comparative study is simulated in Matlab/Simulink.
