Analysis of negative emotion using HRV based ECG signal of elder people
The heart is a vital organ of a human with functions to pump blood throughout the body. This paper discusses the results of examining the cardiac performance of elderly people based on Heart Rate Variability (HRV) analysis. The measurements were done by showing videos of negative stimulus that fit the Indonesian culture (sadness, anger and shock). The measurement results were then used as basis of hypothesis analysis that negative emotions have negative impact for elder people's heart health. In one of the participants (sad emotion), the Mean RR value of negative stimulus, showed 768,7 BPM, which was still greater than the value of Mean RR baseline that showed 744,6 BPM and the value of Mean HR of negative stimulus, showed 78,08 ms which was still lower than the value of Mean HR baseline that showed 80,73 MS. Decreasing values of Mean HR (Rhythm Accelerated Idioventricular) may trigger Myocardial Infarction, Pacemaker Failure, Metabolic imbalance and Myocardial Ischemia.
