According characteristic of intelligent equipment communication protocol, the multicast gateway has relatively high performance, which is confirmed by the efficiency comparison of UDP with TCP and the differences among unicasting, multicasting and broadcasting. Experiments results clearly indicate that the multicast gateway can increase packet transport speed and decrease computation of network bandwidth as well as the load on hosts with no interest in the application.
