The switch fabric consists of Batcher sorter; a radix-r double shuffle network, r-packet distributors, two FAB networks, and output buffer modules. The proposed FBSF switch also supports multimedia traffic such as voice and compressed video data as well as text data. The performance of the switch fabric is evaluated by measures of throughput, packet delay, and packet loss probability.
